Understanding PIP Pipe

How to Install a Turnout Gate

The bottom of the pipe should be 3-5 inches from the bottom of the ditch.

Dig a trench through your ditch bank a little wider than the diameter of our pipe.

Place your gate, with the pipe attached, in the ditch and check the headwall for level.

The headwall should be 2-4 inches inside the ditch bank – not sticking out into the ditch.

Check the pipe for level and backfill under the pipe.

Pack the dirt around the pipe and continue with backfill and compact the dirt until the ditch bank is back is reformed.
